North Tyneside Academy Foundation (NTAF) is an academy sponsor under the DfE academy programme.

We came into operation in 2012 and have a strong track record for supporting schools.

Our structure is:

 

The structure is based on an umbrella model where the Trust Board maintains overall oversight but the funding agreement with the Secretary of State is directly with each of the schools. The Trust Board then supplies Founding Governors to both support and challenge the governing body of each academy.The strength of the model is in the support we wrap around our academies.

The Board itself is made up of people with key expertise to support our academies: Education, Employment and Higher Education.

Our schools have a partnership agreement with North Tyneside Learning Trust (NTLT) to provide wider collaboration with schools and employer partners as well as curriculum support from NTLT’s extensive support capacity:

  • * Maths Hub Support through the Great North Maths Hub
  • * Science Support through the STEM learning partnership
  • * Wider STEM support through the Trust STEM Hub
  • * Climate education support
  • * eLearning support though the IT provision and the Apple Regional Training Centre
  • * Leadership support through the coaching programmes for new headteachers and aspiring leaders as well as senior leader networks
  • * Early years network support
  • * Careers support through our WOW team
  • * Recognising the academic and wider achievements of young people though our Awards
  • * Developing performance through music at the Sage Gateshead
